Mission

Faith Counts is a nonprofit, multi-faith organization with a simple mission: promoting the value of religious faith in the United States. We represent diverse faith communities who believe faith deserves a voice in the public square.

Every day, faith moves people to serve others, connect with their communities, and find meaning in life’s challenges. But there’s a growing pressure to keep faith private, to stay quiet about what
gives our lives purpose. We think it’s time to change
that conversation.

What We Are Doing

Through storytelling, data, and social media,
we celebrate how faith inspires, empowers, and motivates people of all backgrounds to make a difference. We’re focused on highlighting the pro-social and individual benefits of religion in America…in soup kitchens, hospitals, schools, and countless other places where compassion meets action.

FAQ

Who is Faith Counts?
We’re a coalition of major faith communities including Catholic, Latter-day Saint, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh, Seventh-day Adventist, Episcopal, and Evangelical organizations, plus many others. All faith groups are welcome to join us in having conversations about the value of religion!
What do you do?
We share compelling stories and provide easily accessible data about faith’s positive impact. Our stories show how faith shapes lives and communities, while our research (formerly Faith Facts) offers reporters, scholars, and the public credible information about religion’s role in society, from healthcare to immigration to racial justice. Subject-matter experts oversee all our data, which links directly to original source studies.
Why promote faith?
In an increasingly secular culture, many people feel pressured to keep their faith private or worry about being judged for their beliefs. Yet research shows that faith communities contribute enormously to society through volunteer work, social support, and charitable giving. We believe faith’s positive impact deserves to be recognized and celebrated, not hidden away.
Are you promoting one certain religion?
Not at all. Faith Counts is intentionally non-denominational and inclusive. We celebrate faith across all traditions and welcome diverse perspectives.
How can I get involved?
Explore the stories and research on our site, share your own faith story, and join the conversation on social media. Whether you’re deeply religious or just curious about faith’s benefit to society, there’s a place for you here.
